Sticky Fingers, Bakery by Two-Time Cupcake Wars Winner, Soft Opens on Tuesday, January 23

Sticky Fingers, the renowned woman-owned bakery in DC owned by two-time Cupcake Wars champion Doron Petersan, is expanding its presence in the DMV area. The latest retail outlet and flagship commercial kitchen opened its doors on Tuesday, January 23rd, in the Takoma neighborhood of DC, located at 314 Carroll Street NW, opposite the Takoma Metro Station. This new establishment takes over the space previously occupied by Soupergirl and will also feature Soupergirl soups in its grab-and-go section.

While the bakery is in the midst of a “soft opening” this week, it will gradually expand its hours and offerings in the coming weeks. A grand opening celebration for the community is planned for next month, with details to be announced soon.

The Takoma retail bakery offers a state-of-the-art production facility to meet the increasing demand for its mail order and wholesale bakery items and mixes. Customers can enjoy popular items such as chocolate chip and Cowvin Cookies, brownies, seasonal and classic cupcakes, and custom cakes. The bakery has introduced newer savory additions, including plant-based ham and cheese croissants, spinach and feta Danishes, sandwiches, artisanal vegan cheese, and house-made charcuterie. Freshly brewed coffee sourced from Alexandria-based Swing’s Coffee is also available.

Founder Doron Petersan expressed her excitement about returning to the welcoming Takoma and Takoma Park community, stating, “I am so excited to bring our sweets and eats to the Takoma and Takoma Park community, and have an opportunity to serve Shepherd Park, Silver Spring, Brightwood, and other neighborhoods in the area. I feel like we’re coming home!”

The bakery caters to various dietary needs, offering vegan and kosher pareve options. It operates as a peanut- and shellfish-free facility and provides gluten-free choices.

During January, the retail bakery’s hours will vary, and it will be closed on Mondays. Starting February, Sticky Fingers Bakery will be open to the public from 7 AM – 7 PM Mondays – Fridays and 8 AM – 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Sticky Fingers’ retail and wholesale sales are thriving, with the new Takoma location joining Sticky Fingers Diner on H Street NE. Residents in the DMV area can now find Sticky Fingers treats at 100 retail outlets, including Foxtrot markets, Streets Markets, Whole Foods Markets, MOM’s Organic Markets, Yes! Organic Markets, Peregrine, and Odd Provisions. Catering services are also available from both the bakery and its full-service diner.

Sticky Fingers is the ultimate destination for 100% plant-based sweets and treats. Created by award-winning vegan pastry chef and two-time Cupcake Wars champion, Chef Doron Petersan, it offers Bake-It-Yourself and Decorate-It-Yourself kits, as well as Ready-To-Eat cookies, brownies, cupcakes, custom cakes, and more. Sticky Fingers sweets and kits ship nationwide and are available for local pick-up.
