Mackie’s Barbecue Company, located at 5500 Olney Laytonsville Rd in Olney, is set to have its soft opening on Monday, September 25. The restaurant, previously Umberto’s Italian Restaurant, will offer a limited menu for dine-in, takeout, and delivery through DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub. Mackie’s features a beer cave akin to those found in Shoppers grocery stores, a retail wine wall showcasing local vendors, and will eventually have a full bar. The menu includes BBQ nachos, crab dip, pulled pork, brisket, pulled chicken, ribs, mac & cheese, and Texas beans. Mackie’s Barbecue Company already has locations at 8547 Ziggy Lane in Gaithersburg and 325 West 7th Street in Frederick, MD.
