On Friday, it was reported that the Popeyes outlet within the Westfield Wheaton Mall food court (located at 11160 Veirs Mill Rd) had ceased operations.
The closure was evident as the location was shuttered, and signage had been taken down, prompting speculation regarding its permanent closure.
However, according to a representative from the mall, Popeyes will not be permanently shutting down; instead, it is slated for remodeling and will reopen under new management. As of now, there’s no specific timeframe provided for the reopening.
It’s worth noting that the Popeyes outlet at Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda had closed its doors back in January.
Popeyes still maintains several other locations across Montgomery County, including in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Olney, Rockville, and Silver Spring.
